Lisa Bunyan MSc.
Counsellor & Psychotherapist

Talking really helps... Let's talk!

My name is Lisa Bunyan  and I am a qualified and experienced counsellor and psychotherapist based in Woking, Surrey. I offer face-to-faceon-line, and telephone counselling services to both men and women over the age of 16 years, as well as couplesfamilies, and adolescents.
They say a problem shared is a problem halved and there is plenty of evidence to prove that this really is the case. Talking through problems with friends and family can often help, but there are times when it is more helpful to talk to a professional counsellor who is not involved in your day to day life and can offer fresh perspectives and insights.

Counselling might be a daunting prospect but as the saying goes: 'It's good to talk'. I hope the following pages will answer some of your questions and provide you with a greater understanding of what counselling can offer and what it involves.

Alternatively, you can give me a ring on 0770 202 6943 for a confidential, informal, no-obligation chat. This will provide you with an opportunity to ask questions and obtain answers that are relevant to you. It will also provide us with an opportunity to get to know each other to see if we feel we would work well together. Counselling is personal and its success to a great extent is based on the development of a mutually trusting relationship.
Life inevitably brings with it many difficulties that can get you down and get in the way of enjoying life and feeling good about yourself. People seek counselling for many reasons, such as being unhappy, depressed, anxious, frightened, angry, frustrated, helpless, out of control, alone or feeling inadequate. We often try to deal with these feelings ourselves by possibly putting them out of our minds, bottling them up and keeping 'a stiff upper lip'.

Talking about your worries and concerns can really help and as a trained counsellor I can provide you with a safe and confidential place to talk freely and openly about life's troubles in the privacy of an impartial and non-judgemental setting. My approach is a collaborative one where I will not give advice but where we will work together encouraging you to explore options open to you and ask questions about all aspects of yourself and your life, both past and present. This will help you gain a better understanding of how they may impact your life, while offering you support, insights and different strategies and skills to help you manage more effectively with life's difficulties. All of this will place you in a much better position to look forward to a positive future.

Counselling is a process that will empower you and help you to seize back control of your life, while increasing your self-awareness, self-esteem and self-confidence. This will result in a greater sense of well-being and a more positive outlook on life.
