Teenagers and Young People (16+)

If you are a young person (or a concerned parent), visiting my site because you find yourself feeling sad or lost and this is affecting your work at school, relationships with friends or family or that you just don’t feel like yourself. Also you might just be worried about exposure or peer pressure associated with drug or alcohol use.

Developing from child to adult through the teenage years can be a difficult time for many young people. It’s a period when you are trying to break away from your primary caregivers to become independent adults. Talking to family and friends could be difficult so you might find it helpful to talk to a not judgemental therapist who is not part of you day to day life and will offer you the support you need during this transitional phase could really help.

Unfortunately about 4 in 10 teenagers become seriously depressed each year. Due to the developmental changes, physical, emotional and mental, and the numerous additional pressures that exams, college and life choices, place on young people today.
