We all want to be happy, and for those near and dear to us to be happy too. Sometimes things get in the way of achieving this.
We are all born into and belong to a family, and this does not necessarily mean blood or family members or living in the same household. ‘Family’ is considered anyone who plays a significant role in one’s life. The family that we acquire when we are born influences every aspect of our lives, both in the present and future and affects who we are and who we become.
Family therapy or family counselling addresses specific issues affecting the health and functioning of a family unit. I am happy to work with all ‘family’ members either as a group/groups or individuals.
I can support and help families through difficult and challenging times that might be as a result of: change, transition, divorce/separation, death, health issues, schooling, child-care, new family members, mental or behavioural health problems, etc.
These issues can result in the development of unhealthy, dysfunctional and unhelpful, dynamics and patterns of behaviour which have an impact on the well-being of everyone involved.
