Relationship Counselling certainly can help but it requires effort, energy and commitment from both parties; sometimes this can be a long and challenging process. Whilst the purpose of couples counselling is to help you rebuild your relationship, and stay a couple, sometimes it is used to put more structure and shared commitment to separation, particularly when children are involved.
As a relationship / couples counsellor I will work with you both, normally together. We will explore your background and possible influencers which have negatively and positively impacted your relationship, how long you have been experiencing these challenges and what, if any, efforts have already been made to improve the situation.
As your counsellor I will not take sides but will facilitate open discussion, explore how you communicate, gain insight to thoughts and feelings, identify behaviours and understand historical influencers. Our focus will be on the relationship as well as you as individuals.
Together we will work toward helping you: define your shared goals, resolve your difficulties and work toward establishing a happier and healthier relationship whilst respecting your differences and individualities.
I will provide you with a safe and confidential environment where you can explore your relationship with a trained and experienced counsellor, to help you establish a way forward that works for you both.
