At times we wonder why life isn’t how we thought or wanted it to be. We feel like whatever we do isn’t enough or achieving the desired results. We therefore question if it’s pointless, feeling a sense of helplessness and hopelessness. We find ourselves constantly trying to create the world we want to be part of and are continually striving to be what we want or believe we are supposed to be. This can affect our overall sense of self and our beliefs.
Often trauma, addiction, illness, death, relationships and life’s constant changing landscape can shape our perception of the world and ourselves making it difficult to acknowledge our reality making life feel like a constant struggle and battle resulting in a sense of feeling overwhelmed with emotions, confusion and sometimes chaos often resulting in anxiety and depression.
How talking therapy can help
Individual therapy will give you an opportunity to focus on yourself and your needs where you will feel supported and listened to with non-judgemental compassion, sensitivity and empathy. Together we will explore your unique situation to help you try to make sense of your experience of ‘being’ in the world and the wider world in which you live. This will help you gain a better understanding of things both past and present and how they impact your ‘day to day’ life and develop ways of managing them more effectively.
We will work to develop a sense of compassion toward yourself and others so that you can move on and focus on the positive learning and understanding that can come from life’s experiences.
Therapy will identify your needs, and develop workable models to help you work towards a life that promotes a positive stronger sense of self and healthier sense of well-being that will improve your: self-confidence, self-worth, self-respect and overall improved self-esteem.
